Nu Metal

I understand a Vampire wanting fame by joining a band, but why did he do Nu Metal?, let's go down the road of Metal and the type of man Lestat is - I always thought he would do Symphonic Metal or Classical music. I just found this a bit odd.

Well that's the music that was popular at the time. Bands like Linkin Park, Korn, and Disturbed ruled the airwaves

In the books it was goth music

When I read the books in the 80's, visions of Sisters of Mercy, Christian Death and Bahaus were in my head as I read of the bands description.

I liked KoRn in the 90's, I'll admit to that. But I always hated that horrible, generic Nu Metal sound. KoRn was unlistenable by this point in their careers, so it makes this movie one that would be hard for me to watch. I have never seen this movie because of how horrible it looks and sounds. However, it's playing on the Sy Fy channel right now, and I had watched a bit of Interview With A Vampire, which just aired before it, so I thought I would watch a little of this movie to determine how terrible it truly is.

Well, I'm just in the first few minutes of the movie, and the opening scene where he interrupts the band by singing some Falsetto note and his eyes are rolled up into the back of his head and his mouth wide open, had me laughing. That was hysterical how awful and cheesey that was! Then the band is all blown away by him. "Yeah! Now let's conquer the world with our terrible and boringly generic Nu Metal sound!" If the rest of the movie is as laughable as the first 5 minutes, then it could be one of those "so bad it's funny" type movies worth watching for the laughs and its cheese factor.

I actually thought the music was literally the only highlight of the film in this garbage-induced film. I'll happily take generic Nu Metal over boring Indie Rock /Pop now dominating the emasculate radio waves.

I thought the music was quite catchy for a faux-band. And this is coming from someone who isn't even into Korn, lol.

Now that would've been a great movie, if they were actually able to get it produced in the 80s and had somebody like Peter Murphy as Lestat.
