Jenny as nature

Has anyone else noted the comparison between Jenny and a bird?

David first hears her singing, in a high pure soprano very similar to birdsong. As a "nature boy", he is drawn into the church to listen to the trilling of these human "birds." I think it is this similarity that initially enables him to make the emotional transition from animals to humans.
