if you dont mind watching Xtc. on a comp screen...

i found out today, hours after my last post, that my (and maybe yours, too) Mac G4 dual 450mhz DVD drive will read discs labeled as "Region 0"...there are plenty of these Ivan's Xtc DVDs for sale on www.Amazon.co.uk, the British site...

additionally, my unit will also allow me to change the "region settings" 5 times in its life...some European and Japanese DVDs are "Region 2" as the rest of the world's are Regions 1-9 etc... so if one had a plan to play and copy a "region X" disc to a region 1 [for american standard DVD players,] that would work too...when i try mine out ill post some results...

and there are multi-region DVD players for sale as well...

...some flick...

Great flick, not sure if I can go through the hassle of messing around with my dvd player settings though. Why don't they just release it in the US already?!?!

Thanks for the heads up.

Omar.

...actually you can break into the firmware of your drive and make it region free with a little program from the internet. Saves a lot of time and hassle. Just check the type of drive you're sporting and type that into google plus type "region free" or similar. You will find stuff sure enough. I had no problems with it and I enjoy all kinds of DVD's ever since. Cheers,
