Movies shot on digital video

This movie is well known for being one of the first, if not THE first, to be shot entirely on DV.

can anyone out there tell me what other movies have been shot on DV too?

I don't know if it was exactly on DV, but 2000 Barbet Schroeder's Our Lady of the Assassins claims to be the first digital movie.

Ivans xtc was not the first to be shot on DV.

Dogme 95 films were shot entirely on digital video, some using the Sony PC 7 E. Two of the most famous examples are:

Festen (1998)
The Idiots (1998)

Correction: Ivans xtc is well known for being the first film shot entirely on High Definition (HD) digital video. Shooting took place in June of 1999. Other movies had been shot on low resolution digital video (dv) before ivans xtc.

Hi. Is this Lisa Enos, as in the movie's screenwriter? If so, I'd just like to say that Ivansxtc was probably my favorite movie of 2002. I saw it in London on VHS that winter and returned to the States hoping to get myself a copy on DVD. Two and a half years on and no store that I've visited can give me a release date. Is there one in the offing? Again, great job.

YES, i am in the same "XTC hunting" boat as all the rest...unstoppable leading performance, crushing vision and testament...and ive only been able to locate a British "Region 0" version of the movie...is there any hope for us Yankees of finding/renting/buying/watching/ this film in "Region 1" coding?

does anyone know anyone who knows someone?

my overboard hollywood friends need to be educated, and more...

Both Jackpot and Session 9 have laid claim to the first HD film shot as well. Many others shot on HD since, of course. Many, many, many more to come.

they didnt close off central london...... they just shot it really early in the morning.
