Loved the show. Sorry that there wasn't any car chase action, fart jokes, cute dogs, stunt men running away (or walking away) from a fireball, or a command center cheering that the aliens have been destroyed.
Get a clue, it's PBS! It's suppose to be boring.
It's not boring to people who love technology and are fascinated by it's history.
shareA sad and pathetic comment by the OP. This an excellent documentary, highly informative and entertaining. Our modern world is indebted to the men who devoted their lives to the development and broadcasting of radio waves.
Kids, communications and entertainment did not always come from plugging in a coax cable, internet modem, or by sending / receiving 4000 irrelevant text messages per month. Without the pioneers of radio there would be no TV, no cable TV stations, no radio stations, no cordless phone, no cell phones, no smart phones.
Given that radio proved the large scale acceptance by the general public of "point to mass" broadcasting, one could even argue that without the creation of radio, we not have the internet today, or at the very least, its development would have been seriously delayed.
