Cage is possibly the worst "successful" actor I have ever seen. He never convinces as his characters. H should never have been allowed anywhere near a film set.

reply

Yes, Cage was Very jarring in the part. The thing that kept me watching was The rest of the cast. John Hurt, Christian Bale, Penelope Cruz and David Morrison. They all put in very solid performances.

reply

I loved him in Moonstruck, possibly the only movie I liked him in. He was overacting, but seemed perfect for the role he was playing.

reply

He was great in Raising Arizona AND Wild at Heart too - but miscast in this one.

reply

Man, what an accent!! Horrible to say the least.

reply

Harry, I am with you. Cage is a huge miss but the rest of the cast is great. I enjoyed this movie overall.

reply

Horrible movie.... I thought both Cruz and Cage were equally horrible .

reply

cage made horrible the movie.its the worst actor in world.

reply

He was great in Leaving Las Vegas.

reply

Leaving Las Vegas proves that Cage has tremendous talent. Not sure what explains all the bad performances, poor directors? bad role choices?

reply

Nah, she had it coming. Although you are right to be ashamed of yourself.

reply

Cage was genuinely awesome in Kick-@$$, though

reply

Yeah he was terrible.

I spent the whole film hoping she would get back with Christian Bale's character.

He seemed far more worthy and the chemistry far stronger.

reply

Yes. Does make you wonder how a person with so little acting talent gets into films. Does he have family connections by any chance? ;-)

reply

He sure does, lol!

His uncle directed 'The Godfather' films

reply

Nicholas Cage was great in Valley Girl. There's a movie that needs a sequel.

reply

Yea people realize CAGE is his stage/switched name.... He's a half Italian American, nephew to FF Cappola, and born as Nicholas Cappola he wanted a name change so he could prove himself on his own (like changing his last name would make directors and production forget he's related to one of the most skilled directors of all time and the entire family is artistically genius. Even Cappolas daughter can direct.

But I must say, I'm half Italian just like Cage is, and he sounded like I did trying to immitate my family that tried speaking English and sucked etc.

Simply put... Cage was mediocre to bad at best.... I agree. I've never considered him a true legit mainstream actor... Just one that can pull in money with PoopRider 3.

reply

Thank you, because seriously, in what world does a woman leave Christian Bale for Nicholas Cage? Once I saw this was the case I couldn't finish the movie. That right there is just unrealistic. ;)

Wow that was harsh! Greeks are evil?? Speaking as a fellow Greek I find your comment more disturbing.

1. Do you actually think every scene in the movie was factual?

and

2. Even if this particular scene was true, can we instead say some people (of all ethnicities and races) are evil?

To say they ALL are is pretty immature and unfounded.

reply

First of all I am Greek and I am not referring to all Greeks. I am just referring to those that killed the girl. I am not referring to all Greeks. Just the ones who hang the girl. Maybe I was not very clear.

It wasn't just Cage,

we have here Spanish girl playing a Greek girl
an American playing an Italian
a British playing a German
atleast 3 British playing Greek males

The whole concept is stupid, why don't they use Greek/German/Italian actors?
