I can remember watching an animated series of Sonic that was NOT cartoon. It was a CGI style animation. I only ever saw 3 episodes. This was between 5-8 years ago.
Anybody know anything?
I'm a big Sonic fan, but I never heard of that before.
Then again, I don't live in Brisbane, Australia.
I haven't either, and it's hard for something Sonic related to slip by Sonic fans.
There are 4 animated series, this movie, and everything else is usually a set of shorts, promos, or video game cutscenes. I've seen Sonic X use brief amounts of 3D CGI, but only backgrounds and stuff like that, not the characters.
Either you remember it incorrectly and it was animated, or quite simply it wasn't Sonic you were seeing.
....wait, what about Game Over ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0397149 )? It was completely CGI 3d, and it starred a complete Sonic knock-off called Turbo. More purple then blue, and with more spikes then slick back spines, but still it was easy to see his inspiration. The series itself was sort of set in a video game world so there were game references like this, though the program itself was more of a family sitcom with the premise being that it followed video game characters lives while the player wasn't playing.
Bit of a marmite show, but it had it's good moments.
