One of the best shows. Way better than the Disney version

Seriously a defining show of my childhood. I Loved the double side of Max and Josh. The girlfriend stories were actually well written and acted. The villians seemed threatening. Truly a great show

This show was actually really good. Not many people remember this show, but those who do usually say they didn't watch more than two or three episodes because the CGI was weak (which is true, as the first six or so episodes of season one didn't look good).

Anyway, it's nice to see someone who remembers this show. For most of my childhood, this was my go-to show and the character of Max Steel became an icon for me, standing next to only Batman. (I still have some of my old Max Steel action figures, and I actually still buy them off of eBay to this day.)
This show holds great memories for me, but the show that came on Disney XD for a while (before becoming a Netflix series and ultimately fading into obscurity) was a travesty. The series looked awful, the acting was fairly weak, the dialogue was atrocious, the plots were laughable... The series was nothing more than a typical kids' comedy show with generic alien/mutant enemies. The original Max Steel did pretty good at staying away from overly generic stories and was actually a fairly interesting series. Some plots could be complex (not many kids' shows I can think of have a season-long storyline which involves a main character turning out to be a traitor), and there were some depressing episodes (Sharks, for example, when the current mission causes Max to remember his mother's death, revealing later that he blames himself). It was a good show.

Sorry, didn't plan on making such a long post. I saw your post (I'm aware that it's an old post), and I got excited. Max Steel was my childhood in many ways, so I have many fond memories of it and when I start talking about it, I find it hard to stop.

I did a review of it on youtube. It is great to see that some people still remember it.

I thought the cgi was awesome and still holds up today
