Geoffry Rush's performance
I think his performance in this movie was one of the greatest acting performances ever. He was absolutely brilliant!

I think both performances, Rush and Brosnan, were great.
shareRush and Brosnan were dynamite together. It was really nice to see them stretch their acting muscles. In any other movie Brosnan would be playing the hero and Rush the villain. It's great to see a film where first appearance are so deliciously deceiving
shareI feel that there is something about the film that doesn't quite work. It's quirky - even the typeface they chose for the credits seems wrong.
It's as if the director can't make up his mind if this is a gutsy espionage drama or a tongue-in-cheek comedy. Of course, Rush's strong suit is comedy, and his delivery, being a stage animal, wasn't subtle enough in some parts (imo), but the lack of a consistent tone lies with the director, not the actors.
Clever story; funny in parts but they seemed almost out-of-place or perhaps just not framed subtly enough. Jamie Lee Curtis was an excellent choice, Pierce Brosnan does an excellent job, as do the supporting actors, but the director fails to pull together all the elements into one cohesive package.
PS - I bet Pierce Brosnan could do ripping comedy. Hope he's given the chance.
