....the actress who played the young Elizabeth committed suicide in September 2011, about the age of Elizabeth in the movie. There's no details as to why or how, but when I wanted to see what actors were doing 10 years after the making of the film on the IMDB cast listing for it, I was stunned to see her date of death!

I just noticed that too. Clicked to see what had happened to her and found out about her suicide as a young woman. That's very sad and also...eerie is right. I think it's most sad that even after being in a film about depression and presumably having people more aware of it, people still weren't aware enough to be able to do anything, and she still thought it was a right choice.
Well, I suppose it is a choice...but gosh. Sad :-(

I watched this movie this past weekend for the first time and it was really depressing. While there were times I found CR's character really annoying at the same time I felt bad for her. I could feel almost feel her pain so I think Christina Ricci did a good job in her performance.
The girl who played a younger version of her did a great job too. It's so sad to hear she committed suicide in real life. :'-(
