Best Pistols song?

Which Pistols song is your favourite?
It can be both their cover tracks and the originals.
My favourite is Problems.

I like EMI - and the I just watched the Great Rock-n-Roll Swindle, and I thought the title song was pretty cool ... liked this movie/documentary way better though ...

Was that the boogyman? ... As a matter of fact, it was.

reply

Seventeen and Bodies, But it is really hard to pick since they are all so consistantly amazing songs they made.

reply

"die little baby screaming, screaming f##king bloody mess"

I like Holiday in the Sun a lot, I love the harmony and rhythm to it, but Liar and Bodies are good songs too- I'd say every one of the songs on that album is either very good or excellent (although I've heard Anarchy in the UK too many times).

reply

I would have to say Pretty Vacant, Anarchy in the U.K., or God Save the Queen.

reply

I have a few:

Sex and Violence
Friggin in the Riggin (hilarious)
Anarchy in the Uk
Seventeen
Pretty Vacant

Actually, come to think of it, i love them all!

McFly

reply

I don't ever remember a Pistols song called "Sex and Violence"...?

I also love "I Wanna Be Me" and "Did You Know Wrong", which were the B sides of Anarchy and God Save the Queen respectively. Shame they didn't make it onto Never Mind the Bollocks.

I don't really like the post-Lydon singles that much except "Silly Thing", which is pretty catchy, but "No One is Innocent" was god-awful.

reply

"Sex and Violence" was by The Exploited. It was off the "Punk's Not Dead" album.

As far as fave Sex Pistols songs are concerned:

(Top ten in order of personal preference)
Satellite
No Feelings
Submission*
Bodies
My Way
Did You No Wrong (NY Dolls/Richard Hell ripoff, but such a GREAT one!)
Anarchy in the UK
Holidays in the Sun
Great Rock 'N Roll Swindle
Belsen Was A Gas

* Used to hate it until I heard it in the end credits to The Filth and the Fury

They *beep*ing need to reissue "Never Mind the Bollocks" with bonus tracks, including some single verions of the classics and the unheard songs (specifically "Satellite" and "Did You No Wrong")

sex and violence is by the exploited

reply

Don't you mean Exploited's Sex and violence?

Great song but not Pistols' from what I know.

reply

I know that Anarchy in the UK and God Save the Queen are the two most heard and popular, but I still think they're great. And I also like Holidays In The Sun.

reply

Yeah "Sex and Violence" i searched sex pistols on limewire and this was downlaoded. It sounds identical to Rotten and Jones. I've heard it mentioned before, i don't know maybe it's a very early one.

Ahem. Not that i have Limewire...

reply

I think "Holidays in the Sun" or "God Save The Queen" are their best songs, but "Did You No Wrong" and the cover of "Stepping Stone" from _Flogging a Dead Horse_ are my favorites.

reply

I deffinetly have to say its friggin' in the riggin'. The lyrics ae really funny

reply

I got Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols about 3 weeks ago, and I have worn that CD out! I love every song on it; my least favorite would probably be New York. After getting to listen to every song on the CD in succession, I think I like Sub-Mission the best. I really like God Save the Queen; I love the way Rotten's voice is loaded with sarcasm when he says "we mean it, man. We love our Queen, God saves". I also like Holidays in the Sun, it has a great rhythm to it.

"A cliché is full of truth, otherwise it wouldn't be a cliché."

reply

I like most of their music, but I think my favorite has got to be No Feelings. I seem to return to that song more ofter than the others. They really rip through it, like punk meets power pop.

reply

pretty sure 'sex and violence' is by the exploited

reply

Sex and violence is also by the misfits...

Friggin in the riggin
Sex and violence
Bodies

Cant beat em ^_^ oh "my way" by sid vicious is definatly UNBEATABLE

reply

I think it's disgusting to pick a favorite song. You are all so boooooring!

reply

The pistols have never had or performed a song called 'Sex and Violence'. It is in fact a song by an 80's punk band, hugely influenced by the pistols called The Exploited.

My favourite songs are;

No Feelings
Bodies
Holidays In The Sun
Belsen Was A Gas
No Lip
