2008 World Tour

I was wondering. During the band's 2008 world tour, why did they only gig once in the U.S.? aND IN vEGAS of all places? In 2003 they played Jones Beach where half the seats were not sold, and from there went on to play a smaller venue in D.C. Are the police in major American cities scared of crowd-control if The Pistols played? Or riots? Or are the Pistols themselves averse to an extended US tour? Or do they lack the sufficient popularity in the U.S. to merit an extended tour? I find my last posit difficult to believe.

I saw the 1996 reunion at Roseland in NYC and it was packed. Saw them in 2003 in (gulp) Trump Marina of all places. That was about half full. But I'd have to guess that their popularity in states has waned thru the years. That's probably why they cut out the states. I will say this though - that 1996 show was a hell of a lotta fun.
