I'm Danish

I am originary from Danmark and Blinkende Lygter was the first DVD I bought for my collection.
It is a black humor film that has some very philosophical ideas.
I don't think anyone will ever read this but I thought I might give it a shot.
If you have seen it then post a message about your P.O.V. concerning the film.

I'm not Danish but I have seen Blinkende Lygter. It is the second Danish film that I have. My first was Pusher. I only got them for Mads Mikkelsen, but once I actually saw both of these movies I realized how great they are. Really suck you in.

reply

It's exactly the same with me, I have seen Pusher and Blikende lygter, and I think they are both very good movies, well let us say that they are absolutly fantastic. I have to watch more danish films

I recently got a copy from Netflix and was really, really enjoying it-- until I got to the flashback of Arne's childhood and the *beep* DVD started freaking out on me! Turns out there was a crack in the disc. I've sent it back, but I can't believe this had to happen to a movie I was truly enjoying (if the last half-hour was anywhere near as good as the first hour+, I think this one might've had a shot at my top 20 of all time!). Why, oh why Lord, could this not have happened to, say, "Gummo"? I couldn't stand "Gummo."

And after that, well, the game was mine.

What a shame! The rest of the movie is exactly as goo as the first hour! Sorry 'bout your dvd hope you get another copy

Forever will the wolf in me desire the sheep in you

reply

So am I but I on the other hand am not that impressed with this current wave of movies containing meaningless violence. And I wouldn't mind a outlining, of these philosophical ideas, because I don't think this movie can boast any such idea.

reply

I'm not Danish, but this was the first film I ever bought on DVD, actually.

reply

I'm swedish and i love "Blinkande Lyktor" as its called in Sweden.
There are a lot of good danish films and actors around!
Another one I can truly recomed is "Festen"(The Celebration) by Thomas Vinterberg.

reply

Mads Mikkelsen styrer bare for vildt! :D

It's ok to eat fish cause they don't have any feelings

reply

det gør han i hvert fald :D

reply

Jep, han er en syg god skuespiller ;)

reply

Hi, im doing the subtitles for BL in dutch today.
i was wondering about the soap they are talkin about when they are drivin through the woods and Arne is sayin that he watched the whole series of xxx soap.
Can you tell me the title?
TAK
forme it sounds like Metza Do but im dutch so thats no help

reply

Um.. I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure it's Matador.

reply

Yes, thanks!

reply

Calling "Matador" a soap is so wrong. It's more like "upstairs downstairs".

reply

Dane aswell, best Danish movie, probably the only movie that had me laughing my ass off all the way through, also the only movie ive seen +10 times :)

reply

Absolut en af de bedste danske film jeg nogensinde har set.

Fantastisk set-up og humoren er så klogt sat op at den ikke hopper generationer over som man nu kan se i mange 80'er film.
