Problem near the ending

How is it that Hawks limped back to the army truck when out in the country, drove it away and then we see Strauss returning it to base? It is the same truck as shown by the registration number. The two men were dressed differently as well and so I am doubly sure I haven't confused them.
Is this simply a goof or am I missing something?

There was a second truck that was driven by the two new guys from the other unit since the squad was down several men needed for their 'trial'.
