Am I the only non-emo person that really love this show?

I was 10 when the show first came out in 2001 and instantly loved it because it was so different than other Nick cartoons. However, most kids that were at my age or a little bit older didn't really appreciate the show during it's original airing. I remember talking to my friends during lunch time about the show and they said that they hated it because it was a dumb show and my friends were sort of preppy snobs and not really into anything that's not N Sync/Backstreet Boys-material (ironically, I was starting to get alternative at age 10). It wasn't until high school around 2005 (mid 2000s) during freshmen year that most folks really begin to catch on to the show after it was canceled. However, the majority of the folks were a bunch of emo teens and I really don't know one single non-emo person that appreciate the show as much as I do as a non-emo person.

And we are all so far from emo:)

Yeah I have a few cool emo friends who got me into it. But Zim fans come in all shapes and sizes:)

I'm not Emo and I love the show and the characters. Unfortunately I didn't discover the show until after it had been cancelled. To me, this seems like a show that might appeal to different types of people on different levels. It has that "outsider" vibe so maybe that's why the Emo people got it and it also has a well defined good versus bad story line that most anyone can relate to. I think probably the people who say they hate the show feel it is beneath them or are (let's be honest) not smart enough to get into it. It's a very smart show yet hilarious. It has many layers of humor. I especially love the satire. Great show.

I'm not emo at all and I love it. It premiered here in 2002 and I was 11 and loved it instantly. It seems a lot of people have this same story; no-one that I knew around my age watched it. And similarly to you, when I got to highschool it seemed to become an emo thing. I never understood that, but *shrug*

Aristotle versus Mashy Spike Plate!
