It's been a while since I saw this show, does Zim's race even age? I recall an episode of Zim being born and he resembled the same height and physique as he always does.
...Doh!
The closest to an explanation was in "Tak - The Hideous New Girl". Tak explains that Zim unknowingly sabotaged her Invader training 50 years ago! But it's unclear how much this tells us, years of where? Earth? Devastis? Irk? And in the flashback, Zim appeared to be full-grown.
Also, there is no way to tell what constitutes "maturity" to Irkens. They seem to reproduce through technological means. Other Irkens seem to not consider Zim "normal", either. He might well be considered a 100 year old man-boy in his own culture.
The wiki says the age a lot slower than humans.
shareZim is 16 Irken years old. When the characters mention the passage time time it's always in earth terms. My source? Being obsessed with this show from the age of seven until discovering Doctor Who at fifteen. I was a strange child.
