SADAKO

The Ring Trilogy is one of the most amazing epic stories I have heard in a very long time. The final chapter, the prequel is possibly the saddest story I have ever been witness to. Sadako, is a gifted, and cursed child who does not understand her powers, or what is happening to her. She is young, and is hunted like a witch. Chastized by family, and a society that fear her, she is denied love, and compassion, and safety. Bludgeoned, then hunted, poisoned, and stabbed continuously, then thrown down a well, the lid slides closed her watery tomb, while she still lives, longing for the only love she has ever known. This movie is so heartwrenching, the acting and directing are top shelf. One leaves no longer fearing Sadako, one can only cry for what was done to her in her short and misunderstood life. Sadako is a reminder to us all.

I wrote a poem for Sadako tonight, to read in it's full html layout, its on my site, but I will post it here for you :)

I am Sadako

I saw you standing between two worlds
Watching curtains rise upon a stage
I knew where you lived, I heard you cry
I could have saved you, but instead we both died

And even now in the afterlife, I feel you all around
I see you in the reflections and thru cracks in this world

I hear you say it sneaks up on you
into my soul you built a house
and wound it up and let it go

When I breathe you in to look thru my eyes
I feel your hands on my hips
And give up my life for yours

And I know how you must have felt
the ocean swallows you up like a fist

I look for you and you're not there
Only stealing glances out of the corners of my mind
And everything moves so slowly
Defined by everything we used to take for granted

And every thought is a life,
wrestling from this world it's own desire
I close my eyes
I reach out to you, the one I loved
And hit stone from deep in my well
I look up and out of this hell I am trapped inside
And lower my head,
denied.

I am Sadako, and i sway with my hair in front of my eyes
dancing to music no one can hear
lost in the prison of my curse's reign
I will never escape this well, this silent torture
Even hell is a heaven to one so low.

I am Sadako, I can keep covering, but
my song is the sound of breaking hearts
and fathomless tears, endless in their trek to the sea.

I am Sadako.

Happy Birthday to me.
