Hey,
I can't think of any movies that are really based in the subway system but off the top of my head, I think pretty much all of the early hip-hop exploitation movies have NY subway and subway painting scenes in them (like 'wild style' and 'breakin') and of course 'The Warriors' have a bunch of scenes in the subways as well. Also 'PI' has a subway scene or two, and more mainstream films like 'Mimic' and 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' definitely feature New York subways aswell. Oh yeah, and there's the 'I have no legs' song subway scene in 'KIDS.'
Hope that helps, sounds like an interesting topic and would love to hear about the other films you have on your list.

I can't think of movies specifically about the NY subways, but two movies that spring to mind that had very memorable depictions were The Warriors (there are actually quite a few scenes on the subway trains, in subway stations, or in the tunnels) and Jacob's Ladder (a particularly creepy use of the subway in that one).

what about The Money Train, or The Taking of Pelham 123?
and if TV counts, Beauty and the Beast?

There's a Hungarian film about their transit system and the cops that have to meet their daily ticket quota and must search for turn style jumpers. I forgot what it's called though.

It's called 'Kontroll', by Nimrod Antler(? i think).
Thats all I can remember.

Of course there's the Luc Besson film subway which is about the same thing but homeless people living in the french subway.

I remember an episode of the TV show "Hey Arnold!" on nikolodeon had a plot centered around a number of people being trapped in a subway. Granted that show didn't take place in new york city but the city they lived in was certainly a representation of that.

Also the movie Pi has some interesting hallucination scenes that take place in the subway.
