A friend got this for me as a present from Tower Records. It says 89 min. on the back cover. Thought you might be interested to know.

thank you so much for replying. i've checked back every single day since i made that post hoping for a response. it turns out that the r1 dvd is 89 minutes.

there's also another movie i was wondering about--it's called spring, summer, fall, winter, and spring. i posted there too but no responses =( apparently the r1 (spc) version is shorter than the other one! i've always thought that spc leaves movies uncut but that, amongst other things, makes me think otherwise. i emailed them on friday about it but they haven't responded yet. i get the feeling that they won't, unfortunately...

It's the same movie, the few minutes that sems "lost" is caused by the copying proces, digital movies has 25 frames/sec and analog movies has 24 frames/sec. So the movie has to be speeded up a little when making the DVD, therfore the 85min DVD's.

I have a Region 2 DVD and it states 89 minutes on the cover

This means something, this is important.
