Loved the movie, totally loved Syd, but there is a huge plothole. Dex doesn't remember her - at all. How the hell can she be pissed that he therefore, obviously, doesn't remember their having sex? I mean, duh! He forgot you, but he's gonna remember having sex with you? That makes no sense whatsoever.
Otherwise, great flick.

I think you and the poster above you missed my point. He didn't remember her when they met. That was before they had sex. Then he didn't remember that they had ever had sex.
Unless I am the anti-Spock when it comes to logic, I don't think it's possible to remember having sex with someone, but still forget that you ever knew the person.

They originally had sex in college. So when they were introduced at the reunion, she was pissed that he didn't remember her. In her mind, he obviously should have remembered her since they had sex together and she clearly remembered him. She acted like she was mad because he should remember her since they had a class together but that wasn't the whole story.
I think I'd have to see the movie again to understand what you're saying, because it's been almost a whole year, and I don't remember Syd's reaction when they first re-met.
Your timeline is right, as far as you go, but you left out the part later in the movie when she later breaks down crying when he doesn't remember having had sex with her back in college. When they first met, he doesn't remember her at all. So why does Syd break down much later when he doesn't remember having had sex with her? Like I said, unless someone can point out how you can forget an entire person while still remembering that you had had sex with them, this is dumb on its face.
But re-reading the whole thread, I suppose one of the posters got it right when they asked "how can you expect logic from a woman?" I guess an explanation could be that after they had sex again, the scene we saw in the movie, she still couldn't believe that he didn't remember her, because surely the sex would have reminded him that he did know her.

I gathered that although she knew he had forgotten her, she had some hope that he might remember her eventually (they did have sex, after all). She felt that him seeing her more and more often might trigger a memory of their night together. But when the realization finally hit her that he did not and would never remember it, she broke down crying. All she wanted was to be something more than just another notch on his bed and him remembering having sex with her would have helped to show her that, after all, she might have actually meant something (something real) to him.

I don't know how you're not seeing this. They had sex and he didn't even remember her. The fact that he didn't remember her in general is not helpful to his case, it just makes it worse! They were intimate, but he didn't even remember that he knew her.
