My impressions

An original and fascinating film, told in modern style reminiscent of
some of Wong Kar-Wai's films. The story within a story narrative
(the inner story being about a motorcycle courier who falls in love
with a client who his bosses want him to kidnap!) is told in a
elliptical way, and such that the boundary between each story becomes
blurred.

I loved this film, and shall certainly be looking out for other films
by Lou.

It was good, lovely cinematographym, the grittiness of shanghai really shows. I watched it in film studies but fell asleep.

East meets West. That's what most people thinks when watching Ye Lou's "Suzhou River". It's Hitchcock and Wong Kar Wai. Is Ye Lou.

Great film.

The cute girl got really tired of Joe River's slanderous accusations, so she decided to "sue Joe River"
