1998's Royal Rumble match is alot like 1996's and 1991's in a way. Lots and lots of iron-man feats. I have two copies of the rumble match, one is excellent condition, the other is a full ppv I got off ebay and the quality sucks bad, so I'll just do the rumble match stuff.

There was only one guy to last under a minute in this one. Tom Brandi entered #3 and lasted twelve seconds. Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie (Terry Funk) were #'s one and two and made short work of him. Not too many surprises in this one, and lots of guys in the ring at the same time through most of it but still very good.

Top 5 in endurance:

#4 The Rock -------- 51:28
#8 Bradshaw -------- 35:45
#11 D-Lo Brown ----- 32:21
#7 8-Ball --------------- 30:43
#6 Phineas Godwinn - 28:47

The rest:

#15 Thrasher ------------- 28:07
#17 Goldust -------------- 26:01
#2 Chainsaw Charlie - 25:20
#19 *beep* Tonk Man - 19:55
#13 Marc Mero --------- 19:37
#21 Mark Henry -------- 19:07
#24 Steve Austin ------ 15:55
#23 Kama ----------------- 13:58
#5 Mosh ------------------ 13:10
#25 Henry Godwinn -- 11:31
#27 Faarooq ----------- 10:02

That's 16 guys, plus, Mick Foley came in as #1 Cactus Jack (9:21), #16 Mankind (2:40), and #28 Dude Love (7:53) for a combined total of 19:54! Interesting thing they did there, heh heh.

Winner - Steve Austin

It's cool they gave guys like 8-Ball, D-Lo Brown, Thrasher, and Phinneas Godwinn alot of in-ring time. Usually you don't see that in Royal Rumbles anymore, but once in a while.

I love when the Finale Four has a little irony, Austin and Dude Love against the Nation was great, and The Rock being the last eliminated was cool.

Austin and Shawn are the only one I can think of to ever actually use their signature move to win the Rumble.
