When I heard this was nominated for an Oscar...

I laughed my ass off. I couldn't believe that this was nominated for the best short film oscar. I'm not saying that I think this short sucks, it's one of my favourites. I just thought that the academy wouldn't even take notice of this film, seeing as it's a comedy and all. By the way, does anybody actually remember the film that did win that year?

P.S. Why wasn't Everything Will Be OK or I Am So Proud Of You nominated for best short at the oscars? They are as funny as Rejected, but of greater deph. Sometimes I wonder what the Academy is thinking...

1) The Academy nominates comedies all the time.

2) This lost to Father and Daughter, which is a truly beautiful work of art.

3) One can never tell why something doesn't get nominated. Maybe the voters just didn't see it. Maybe they don't believe it's as good as you do. All I do know is that, in the case of Everything Will Be OK, 2006 was a VERY packed year for animated shorts. The nominees were The Danish Poet, Lifted, The Little Matchgirl, Maestro and No Time for Nuts, all of which are brilliant shorts (personally I would have given it to The Little Matchgirl or Maestro instead of The Danish Poet, but oh well).
