Something didn't make sense at the end*SPOILERS*

At the end, when Frank's fiance', who framed him, killed his brother on the dentist's chair. Then Frank found the body, extracted his own teeth and had put in his brother's mouth. Then he blew up the office, and, because Frank's teeth were in his mouth, the police thought it was the body of Dr. Frank Sangster.

As a result, Frank's traitor fiance' was thought to have killed him. The hidden camera picked up her shooting the brother, and even though we couldn't see his face,we could still hear his voice. So wouldn't the police know that isn't Frank's voice? So I was kind of puzzled.

It wasn't the best movie in the world, but Novocaine was still entertaining, nevertheless.

Teeth is the thing you can prove and identify the body, even after is burned. Voice on the other hand is not.

All I heard was hysterical "no-no-no" - you never know how somebody sounds 2 seconds before his brains are all over the room ...

reply

That's true. But the police could've checked the accual overtones of the voice itself. I guess that's just sloppy policework. Thanks.

reply

why would a camera used to look inside someones mouth even have a microphone?

reply

xdavidx, you may have just found a plot hole. But since I see my dentist again in two weeks, I'll ask if, for curiosity's sake, if those cameras even do pick up sound. They probably don't, but I'll ask anyway.

reply

I suppose so that the dentist can make verbal comments / notes attributed to his or her work. It is being recorded for the dentist's sake and not the patient's afterall..

reply

Wouldn't the hidden camera have shown Frank doing all the dental work on his brother's mouth anyway? Or do we assume he had turned the camera off during this point (maybe I missed that bit).

reply

They could have filmed that scene and just deleted it. I think we are just supposed to assume he turned the camera off and/or edited it somehow.

Oh well.

reply

Since the voice was from the victim and not the killer, the police wouldn't test the voice. Now if someone from his state found Martin's character in France and claimed he was alive, then they probably could test the voice, but they need a voice to match up with. As for not recording the teeth being pulled out, the camera could have run out of tape before Martin's character came in. Or Frank let go of the recording button after his death.

reply

Actually, after the brother is shot, he drops the camera and we see it turn off.

reply

The camera was not in use during the scene where frank does dental work on his brother.

The reason that the camera records during the murder scene is that Harland was trying to record his penis with it, but Frank does not use it, and doubtless his fiance put it away or something.

Thanks everybody for the help. Im definatly going to watch this again. Ill go ahead and put this on my Netflix list.

reply

i'm still not convinced though, i'm pretty sure the teeth in forenics have to be in the bone. they'd be a bit suspicious if the teeth are somehow glued to the skull. I'm sure forensic pathologists are better than that. :P that said, it was a really enjoyable movie.

reply

I should just go on ahead and finally buy a copy of this severely underated flick.
