First of all, this is a really good movie and I'd highly recommend it to anyone interested in a movie about the humanity of people toward one another during a terrible time in history...

Now to answer your questions....

Actually, in the last few minutes all we see is Josef walking the baby in a stroller through the rubble-filled streets. We can only assume that she and Josef tried to rebuild their lives, with the child. And no mention of what happened to David although while walking Josef sees (imagines) David's Mother, Father and Sister sitting a round a table with the young German boy who deserted and was shot as well as the dog who was shot by the German officer.

As for the feeling of bliss... I assume you mean after she she was pregnant. Being a man, I can only guess that a woman who never expected to get pregnant, and does, would probably be happy, regardless of the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy...If she had been raped, for example, I'm sure her feelings would have been different but she obviously cared for David, on some level, so she did what she knew had to be done... it wasn't exactly a Sophie's Choice to do what she did but I'm sure that under any other circumstances she probably wouldn't have done it... not during that period of time, anyway.

Other than that, I hope you liked the movie.
