Meaning of Footprint

Such Lovely Movie. Movie reaches to the Ultimate Level just because of its Ending which is very appropriate.

I could not get the meaning of Footprint in close-up and then rain falling on that footprint. Lateef smiles while looking at it.

Can anyone explaon that?

i think it just has something to do with the impression she made on his life. not even the rain could wash away her mark. something symbolic and meaningful like that....i dunno wut do u think?

that is a good explanation.

My interpretation was that Baran left a lasting impression on Lateef's soul. Just like her footstep made in the mud. Being able to help Baran's family gave him focus and purpose. Notice that by end of the movie, Lateef wasn't fighting every two minutes like he was at the beginning. He was also much more calm and respectful of Memar and other adults.

I don't know if you can say the change was because of Lateef's love for Baran or because he saw that his situation could be way worse than it was. So he would be more grateful and work harder.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

She left a mark in his life for sure but his life was in jeopardy from then on. He gave all his savings, he borrowed money, he sold his ID card. How was he going to survive ? Certainly his inner self changed for the better but I wonder what happened to him next ?
By helping her & her family, he felt fulfilled as a human being. Note the rain started to come down & filled the footprint. " Baran " means " rain ", thus the title.

When someone experiences Love it leaves an everlasting effect. Although the love relationship might not be forever, it is that impact that lives forever and must be highly appreciated. :)

In this film, the effects were the boy becoming a far better person.

I don't see it as a lasting mark at all. Rather, first we see him accidentally leave behind his hat with her hair clip on it, his only memento of her. And now he briefly gets attached to her footprint, but then even that gets washed away. And he is very unlikely to ever see her again. There's no option but an attitude of non-attachment.

This movie is funny and sweet, a lovely intense little love story without the slightest bit of sex.

According to me there are three stages of love
1. where you need physical proximity of beloved to experience love.
2. when a thing related to your beloved makes you complete,
3. when you are one with your beloved, distance, spaces, time won't matter in this stage. You cherish your loved in everything.

Throughout the movie we can see Lateef's character pass through these stages,
1. when he tries to approach her for tea
2. the hair clip
3. the footprint and the rain...
As already mentioned baran means rain.

my take on it....if u all know....BARAN means "RAIN"....and in the end the empty footprint gets filled up with rain, so that it washes away completely... meaning , lateef was nothing before she met her, baran left a mark in his life, changed him completely, and in the end, he didnt care if he had anything left for himself, he gave away everything for his beloved, she left a mark in his life, ..(rain washing the footprint away)...this is the last degree of love i say, when 1 just wants to become the beloved that ones existence doesnt even matter anymore!, and therefore at the end was the smile from lateef, that rain can never end, it will be there forever to wash him away!!!!
