I had the pleasure of appearing in an episode of Cover Me.
(Sting Like A Bee) I was fortunate to portray bad guy
Leon Mora, the icy fight-fixer. This was one of the
most pleasurable and artistic groups of people to work with
professionally. Art projects like this have a tough time
against the more formulaic commercial endeavors.

You have to be kidding. No wonder you're now in Salt Lick City.

reply

And what exactly are you doing with your life... You know, other than sitting in your mother's basement at 43, probably eating a KFC failure bowl and coming up with "witty" comments like: "Salt Lick City" when replying to a comment from someone who has actually been on a TV show? Try to have something productive to say the next time you want to make an idiotic comment, you basement dwelling, acne covered, gravy slurping waste of bandwidth.

reply

WOW! Criticizing a person whose account expired three years ago. You got balls!

I don't know why the good ones always get cancelled. I hope it gets released to DVD soon. It was so witty and downright funny.

Who knows the reasons why? Not enough viewers is the general reason.
Or maybe it was just because *I* was watching it. I seem to have that effect on TV shows. If I watch them, 2 times out of 3 they're goners.
But seriously...
Like I said before, the main reason shows get axed is due to poor ratings. Even though Cover Me was a super show and tons of fun to watch, not enough people tuned in, apparently.
I seriously wish they'd release the entire series on DVD. I never even got to see all the episodes because the station that carried it locally only had it on the schedule as a 'filler' program, and wasn't committed to it. My loss.

Cover Me for DVD!

reply

haha no kidding you too?!
I watch shows, love them, and then they disappear, go figure...
They really should give the fans a DVD though i agree!

Vote for Cover Me... on DVD along with all of your other tv show favorotes on

Sorry but I think I already have that award nailed down. I personally take the credit for Mercy Point going three episodes before it was pulled. I know what you mean though, its like everything I want to watch gets snipped and shows I wouldn't watch even if they were on ten years......ARE on for ten years.

Cover me was a lot of good things. I have seen some great programing on the "back" channels as I call them and I get furious when they take a chance on a program but won't support it long enough to get an audience even though the demographics are so different now than they were when there were only three channels and some shows got a couple of years to stay afloat. My biggest lament at the moment is Over There which was one of the best shows I have seen on television (tho I don't hbo and showtime) and it got cut after 13 episodes or so. Anyone who labored thru Erik Palladino on ER and wanted to choke him, got a real reward for not doing so when they watched Over There.

I am off subject I know but Cover Me just brings to mind a wealth of televison we didn't get to see because someone figured out how to judge viewership without consulting the viewers! I am glad to see that Cameron Richardson is finding employment. She is a beautiful young lady though every time I saw her in that skimpy bathing suit I thought that if I was her mother she would be in something drab and shapeless!

reply

Ok - You take the credit for 'Mercy Point', and I'll take the credit for 'Sleepwalkers'.

*sigh* Me and TV aren't friends anymore. I just don't have anything to watch. So I content myself with DVDs of old TV series I liked, pretending I'm back in the good old days when TV was actually decent and fun. Back when TV had STANDARDS!

reply

You MUST be joking! Have you not seen Entourage? Rescue Me? WEEDS? How about The Shield? The Sopranos? Curb your enthusiasm? Real Time with Bill Maher? Even reruns of The West Wing or Huff, Sex and The City or Six Feet Under or Oz or Sleeper Cell? There's also Nip/Tuck and 30 days. What about the new Studio 60 on The Sunset Strip - it's outstanding!!! Someone (an Emmy winner whose name escapes me at present) said during the Emmys broadcast that it was "great to be working in television during its second golden age." That there might be a single person out there who cannot find enough "good" - let alone great - tv shows to watch right now is, well, unimaginable to me, what with writers like Aaron Sorkin out there and all the other greats (Larry David, for one, comes to mind).

I'm gonna take a wild stab in the dark here, but did you perchance vote for George Dubya? I am stunned by what you wrote. There are simply too many great shows on these days to keep up! Oh, and BTW, it's "TV and I", not "me and TV" - just a friendly FYI...

Wow. I didn't even realise my post received a reply until just now.

No, I didn't 'vote for George Dubya' (I have no idea why that would even be relevant to this discussion, but whatever)...as I was saying...I didn't vote for 'Dubya' for the simple reason that I do not reside in the United States of America.

90% of the shows you listed I'd categorically ignore for the main reason that I'd find the content highly morally offensive. I don't need nudity, sexuality or profanity to 'entertain' me. Besides which, I don't subscribe to any cable or satellite channels. (Small wonder I don't, either.)

And I wrote 'TV and me' because 'Tee-vee' rhymes with 'me'. But thanks for the grammar lesson, regardless. You are quite right about that one.

reply

It perplexes me why anything I like gets cancelled when I look through the listings and see what is kept instead. Is it because I don't smash beer cans on my forehead? I just don't seem to have the magic. I almost hate to watch tv anymore knowing that as soon as I begin to love a show it will be gone. I managed to accidentally find and kill Over There just last year. Instead we get E Ring and the thing after NCIS....which has military scenarios and tactics so unreal that even I know those things could not happen. My new plan is to wait and see if it makes a season then rent the DVD from Netflix and watch it all at once. There are enough cable channel news wars and cute cooking shows to entertain me while I eat. I think its too late to hope "someone" gets a clue!

reply

I've stopped watching TV, too. I just know if I get into something, it will be the Kiss of Death for that show.
Either that, or it will just get too weird and popular. I watched 'Lost' pretty faithfully in Season One. Then it morphed into this cult show where half the action is in these clique-ish communities on the Internet, where they hash about their pet theories about what's *REALLY* going on on that island.
Hello...I just WANT A TV SHOW! I don't want to have to do any extra-curricular activities to 'get' it.
And I want a TV show that will preferrably last longer than one season.
I voted for Cover Me on that DVD site, so hopefully we'll get our wish one day.

I think eventually most everything will be DVD. I don't much do the net chat stuff because people without names can say whatever they want and a lot of times they don't just disagree, they name call others who don't think like them. When I have something to say I don't mind telling you who I am and where you can find me. But I suppose that makes me a throwback to another time when we all took resonsibility for our lives and weren't victims....which I am sure is a whole other chat room buzz. How long was Cover Me on? It has been so long, but there must have been enough to fill one DVD? I noticed a program out on DVD that only aired two episodes or so, Proffitt or Profitt? That was a spooky but awesome show and it got nipped as fast as that one with Kevin Anderson and Rachael Ticaton where she was a judge and their son was seeing the daughter of the porn king? The only reason I even noticed that one and waited to see it was because I had seen Kevin Anderson in the Catholic priest one that was on for six episodes maybe before the plug was pulled and liked him a lot. I am hoping that one comes out on DVD.....haven't checked lately but I am sure it is down at the bottom of someone's list...Nothing Sacred, that was it. Anyway, its nice to lament what could have been with someone else who understands, thanks!

I was an extra in an episode "The River" and would love to see it on DVD someday. If anyone has it taped, I would love to see it...

I used to have access to Melora's (Barbara Arno) old forum from her old official site and now, apparently, I can't get into it. I was hoping to insert a link to this one particular thread where she answered this question in depth for a fan. Now I feel a little funny posting this answer without a direct reference to back me up, but if memory serves, she said something about a few "shall remain nameless" people over at USA at the time, who had basically been sloppy about the advertisement of the show and whatnot. And that contributed in a BIG way to the eventual cancellation. But, again, it's not exactly the most reliable reference if I can't point you to her direct quote!

I just popped in here to post a thread about the spot we have for this show in our forum. Hope I don't get deleted if I mention it in here as well as in its own separate thread but....I guess I'll take that chance lol. Anyway, here's the link to OUR Cover Me thread:

there really isn't too many places for you Cover Me fans to hang out and discuss this FABULOUS show, other than imdb and melorafan. So PLEASE DO come on over ANYTIME and use that space to hang out, talk about the show, etc etc. The thread also links to the Cover Me section on Melorafan.com, where we feature every single episode of the series, reviews of specific episodes, photos, etc. We welcome you all!
