haunted?

I watched this a couple of years ago and pretty much forgot about it until earlier surfing a board for Spun. I sort of remember the ghost story but I never got the idea that the house they were in was haunted, just tweakers tweaking. Was this really classified as a horror? The movie was a bit of a downer but it never struck me as a horror movie.
