Should an Argentine with an obvious...

...anti-U.S. bias be reviewing movies such as this?

This is an action movie, plain and simple.

Anyone seeking to be "educated" by movies like Collateral Damage is a fool. This movie is no closer to "real" history than any of the movies made during WWII depicting Germans and Japanese as sadistic, vicious sub-human killers.

This is Hollywood and Hollywood deals wiht fiction in order to crank a profit.

Anyone watching the Motorcycle Diaries would come away with the impression that Che Guevara was a romantic cross between Jesus Christ and Robin Hood. In fact, che was a sick killer responsible for the deaths of many innocent people.

Movies ought be evaluated on their own merit: are they entertaining? are they well-directed? well-acted? were the scenes lit right? did the editing add to the story line etc., etc., etc.

If people insist on evaluating movies on their "historical accuracy" then go watch Evita and imagine that life under Peron was one big, happy musical!

"In fact, che was a sick killer responsible for the deaths of many innocent people."

"Sick killer" ¡¡¡¡¡JAJAJAJAJAJA!!!!! What a douchbag...

From an ARGENTINIAN (what a douch) with an anti-U.S. bias.

reply

Che was a psychopathic murderer. He was also racist as hell and a coward who begged the Bolivian firing squad to spare his life because he was "worth more to them alive".

Che Guevarra worshipers are no better than neo nazis.

reply

He also had a gun fetish & a hatred of hippy sloth & decadence...nevertheless, when it comes to Che, I too want to quote Tony Montana & say:

Manny, choot dat peesa chit!

reply

Che Guevara was a Communist. Not a Nazi. His role model was Lenin, not Hitler. If you do not know the difference between far left and far right, God help you.

reply

A fellow could make a lot of hay with your comments...what with Nazi standing for 'National Socialist'-Socialism with a racial component.

Why can't you wretched prey creatures understand that the Universe doesn't owe you anything!?

reply

There was nothing socialist (in the formal sense) about the Nazis. Hitler intended to redefine socialism when he named his party.

The Nazis were far-right. Socialists are far-left.

reply

Of course; I'm sure the Nazis were all about limited governmental influence, frugality & more autonomy for the periphery;

So Socialists don't like the Nazis? Just like Some Eye-Tie tried to tell me Mussolini wasn't a 'socialist' because he was 'kicked out of the party'--like that negates Benito's core beliefs. I wonder if that meant Trotsky wasn't a Commie because 'Uncle Joe' gave him the boot.

Why can't you wretched prey creatures understand that the Universe doesn't owe you anything!?

reply

Limited government is not a right wing stance. Nationalism & Fascism (far right) are. You sound like you get your political education from some fringe libertarian website. Start learning from a reputable source instead.

reply

Sounds like you're definition of 'right wing' is different from my definition of right wing;

Oh well....

Why can't you wretched prey creatures understand that the Universe doesn't owe you anything!?

reply

So should an american with an obvious anti-guerrilla/anti-colombian/anti-argies bias be reviewing movies at all?

Just complain to IMDB, ask them to ban foreign users.

reply

I HATE THIS MOIVE IT DEPICTS TERRIBLY COLOMBIA. THAT WAS MEXICO THAT WAS IN THIS FILM!!

GOD FOR MOVIES LIKE THIS MOST IGNORANT AMERICANS THINK THERE IS NO CIVILIZATION DOWN HERE AND THAT ALL THERE IS IS CORRUPTION, POVERTY AND DRUGS!! I FELT HEAVILY OFFENDED BY THIS CRAPPY MOVIE

reply

Too bad.

reply

I completely agree. There was no true basis at all in this movie, Colombia has never been, and will NEVER be a terrorist country. The problems that the country is experiencing are completely internal. Even if this is a completely fictional movie, they have no right to directly accuse a country of a terrorist act when they have never ever shown any sign of that type of action.

reply

this movie was filmed in colombia or argentina ? aghh who cares, same *beep* different name ...

reply

*beep* you

reply

totally misinterpreted colombia...thanks to this movie i now think there are terrorist camps in colombia that make a business of kidnapping and cocaine production with marxist ideologies...

totally off base huh?

it is better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have it
