This movie annoys me

I loved Batman: TAS and Batman Beyond as a kid, but I remember seeing this movie and being royally pissed at it's blatant disregard for TAS and Beyond.

Yes, I'm aware Paul Dini wrote it and yes, he is an amazing writer in general, but damn it, this whole movie is basically just Joker fan service.

Was it really necessary to make the Batman Beyond movie ABOUT The Joker? Batman Beyond has a great rogue's gallery, why rehash a villain of Bruce's and not Terry's? I can see a bigger selling point on having Terry square off with the Joker, but the whole thing with bringing him back through Tim is convoluted. Not to mention it feels rushed.

I don't know, maybe it's just me.

It's you.

See you in another life, brother.

I didn't care for it, either, so you're not alone. I also thought that they treated Tim in a really crappy way. I enjoyed him as Robin in the comics and to see him end his tenure in the DCAU by being mind-raped was a big turn-off for me.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU!

I totally agree. Tim is my favorite Robin and DC treats him like absolute *beep* every possible chance they get.

I don't see it that way. I think this movie really cemented Joker as Batman's greatest villain, which I feel was never really done in TAS. Also, it gave Joker that "last laugh" he always wanted over Batman, which again was never really done in TAS.
