Sooo, which one is the best remake????

For those who saw the original like me, which one of the remakes you have seen is the best???

The question isn't which one is BETTER, I respectfully think that the original should not even be compared to any of the other ones... they all have their own style... the only fair comparison with the original is if there was a COLOMBIAN remake... if not the comparison isn't fair, Spanish, Mexican, Russian and American remakes will all differ because of cultural differences.

That being said, my fave so far has been the Spanish one "yo soy bea" i've seen it on you tube and the guy Alvaro (Armando) is soooo cute and she is just perfect, I see the best chemistry between these two.

I also enjoy the Mexican version, I've seen bits of the Russian one (although I didn't understand it, but I can tell who the "ugly betty" is) and the American seems enjoyable but its the most different so I find it the most far-off remake, although enjoyable...

How about everyone else???

La Fea Mas Bella is awesome, just hate how cheap it can look at times, although the soap has gone to pretty locations such as Cuernavaca, Acapulco and Munich Germany. It has plans to go to New York, and in the future perhaps other places. La Fea Mas Bella has a comedic quality that was not so present in the original, although both are great, my fave is La Fea Mas Bella.

I have only seen the original, the two Mexican versions (yes there was an "unoffical" one from TVAzteca, Televisas rival tv channel) and the new American version. I don't like any of the remakes as much as the original but if I had to choose I would go for "la fea mas bella".

Actually there is a parody of that remake in a show called "la parodia" and an ugly guy plays the part of Betty (or however she is called in that remake), its awesome, super funny stuff.

I totally agree with you alextrvelian. In selling the copyrights to other countries, I would demand that any remake state at the beginning "based on a Colombian novela". I also take it as insulting that all these Colombian soap opera remakes such as "Yo Amo Juan Querendon", "Destilando Amor" -Based on "Cafe", Betty, and Mirada de Mujer, are being redone in such a short period of time after the original. As if to say, "the original is not good enough". I could understand if a remake is done after 20 years of the original having been released, but 6 years after the release of the original? Why can't they just re-air the original?

I’ve seen parts of the original which I thought was amazing, and very new and unique. I saw the Spanish remake and liked it as well of course the original will always take the throne for been the best, Spanish version will take my second place. You soy bea is actually kind of boring, I found it not that interesting and there is no comedy in the whole episode that I saw. Ugly Betty is very enjoyable but the most off tracked one. This story does follow almost nothing from the original. First off in the original Betty is an only child. Her parents are still married and are very respectable hard working people. Her boss pretends to fall in love with her after he looses the company and surrenders it to Betty. But later he falls in love with her. He has a girlfriend that is pretty much Betty’s rival. They have a series of comedic characters in the series that make the series full of laughs and entertainment. In the American version Betty has a sister, her mother is not with them. Her boss is just her boss and there is a villain and so many other things that are not even on the original version.
