For those who want to know the plot....

Reading the board I noticed that some people wanted to know what the plot is about, since the novel is dubbed in italian, or its only available in spanish... so here it goes, for the person who asked who the the guy with the glasses and greasy hair was, he is Nicolas Mora, Betty's best friend, and a very good economist.

So here it goes:

About the plot: let's start by the beginning:
Once upon a time there was a Colombian succesful clothing line named Ecomoda, their owners retire and live their son Armando leading the family bussiness. Armando, Ecomoda's president, is engaged to Marcela, the daughter of the other owner of Ecomoda. (the bussiness is owned by two families)

Armando, essentially a good guy, cames up with a very risky buissness plan to make Ecomoda grow.

Now, is time to introduce Ugly Betty: Betty is an economist, she is very inteligent, but due to her ugliness she hasn't been able to get a job that matches her capabilities. She finally is hired as Armando's assisstant. After a few months betty gains Armando's confidence, since she is a very responsible and unconditional worker, betty earns more and more responsability until she starts to be in charge of Ecomoda's finances.

Remember Armando's risky business plan? well here it becomes very important. Armando goes for the plan and things go wrong. He nearly loses Ecomoda. to prevent this from happening, he asks betty to create Terra Moda another business that will lend money to Ecomoda. Betty, has doubts about the ethics of this decision, Armando insists, and she finally accepts. Nicolas Mora the greasy hair guy, helps Betty to manage Terra Moda, he invests the money and makes terra moda a very succesuful buissiness.

Up to here things go more or less fine. Armando and Marcela's parents do not know anything about Ecomoda's financial problems. But practically by now Ecomoda is in betty's hands, since she is the owner of Terra Moda and Terra Moda has an embargo over Ecomoda.

Then things start to get complicated: Armando starts to think that Betty, now that she is practically the owner of Ecomoda, can decide not to give Ecomoda back to their original owners. Armando also suspects that Nicolas Mora loves betty and wants to take over Ecomoda. So he -convinced by his best friend Mario Carvajal, also a ecomoda executive- decides to seduce Betty, since he believes that if betty is in love with him, she will never try to take Ecomoda away from his owners.

Then the romance begins: anyway, Betty has been in loved with Armando for a while by now. He, in the other hand, thinks she is too ugly, until then he has only dated models. Though, he considers betty is a good and innocent woman. He often feels guilty every time he makes her believe he is in love with her.

Things go like that, betty falling in love with armando a little bit more every time, Armando being unfaithful to Marcela, Ecomoda trying to get rid of its financial problems, and so on.

Until..... Betty finds out that Armando deceived her, then she tells all the financial truth to Armando's and Marcela's parents in a bussiness meeting, she hands in a real financial report and not the fake one she had been working on to cover the problems. Then she resigns and goes to Cartagena, as the assistant to cecilia Bolocco (i dont remember her name in the novel) the point is that in Cartagena she undergoes a make over and she turns out to be beautiful after all.

Meanwhile in Ecomoda, things get ugly and the executive board starts to suspect that betty actually wants to keep Ecomoda for herself. Betty who is extremely disappointed by Armando wants to give Ecomoda and all the money back to their owners but she doesn't wan't to have anything to do with Armando.

Armando by this time has accepted that he is in love with betty, misses her a lot and is terribly sorry, he keeps calling her to cartagena, but she is to angry to call him back.

Since betty's presence is necessary to stop the process of Terra Moda taking over ecomoda, she has to go back to ecomoda. She goes there, (remember that now she is beautiful) But it turns out that she just can't give Ecomoda back as simply as that because it will broke, so she will have to lead ecomoda until its financial problems are over. Everyone disagree with this, specially betty armando's and marcela's parents. But since she has a very good will, and wants to give ecomoda back to its owners she accepts being ecomoda's new president, until the bussiness gets rid of its money problems.

Of course she is very succesful, she makes all the right decisions financially and leads ecomoda to success.

Eventually, Marcela talks to her saying that armando still loves her, bla bla... she forgives armando and they get back togethet and get married.

So now she has the guy and the bussiness... can she asks for something else?

Well there's a second part of this novela: Ecomoda, I've never saw it though... I've heard is not nearly as good as betty, la fea is.
