re: One word to you to prove this show was good. Mrs Raven!

Whenever these 3 x characters below were within the Gp Waiting room of My Hero. They were hilarious. You can't say they were not.

Emily Joyce ..... Janet Dawkins (51 episodes, 2000-2007)
Geraldine McNulty ... Mrs. Raven (51 episodes, 2000-2007)
Hugh Dennis ... Dr. Piers Crispin (51 episodes, 2000-2007)

These 3 had a special chemistry were I'm sure they ad libbed their lines all the time...

My favourite characters from th show overall though has to be Mrs. Raven, then followed by Dr. Piers Crispen, and George Sunday.. Wonderful wonderful characters, would just made you break out into laughter

I love Mrs Raven. I'm sure that she alone could have a spinoff show on her own. She was that good. Her character was so scarcastic and cruel, and would do anything to reach the top. And yet she was so funny.

The plots of My Hero were incrediable weak, but it was the characters greed and selfishness that made you laugh.
Also for the stupidity of tyler and george also made you smile...

Lill Roughley ... Ella Dawkins (51 episodes, 2000-2007)
Lou Hirsch ... Arnie (51 episodes, 2000-2007)
Philip Whitchurch ... Tyler (51 episodes, 2000-2007)
Tim Wylton ... Stanley Dawkins (49 episodes, 2000-2007)
Ardal O'Hanlon ... George Sunday / ... (44 episodes, 2000-2006)

I liked the series when Ardal O' Hanlon, was in it. It was well done then. But after he left the show lost something...

But Mrs.Raven, what a great Character she was....

Hi...

To tell you the truth.. Mrs Raven is up there with other british comedy characters such as

Basil Fawlty, Del Trotter and Victor Medew...

Whenever the show went over to the medical waiting room we got pure genius.

Doctor Crispin and Mrs Raven exchanging insults to each other was priceless to witness. The humour was so sharp...

I would love them to bring back this show with all the original characters. - Wonderful comdey

They should have maybe given her her own series- or at least a spinoff involving her and Crispin

You are so right! Mrs Raven is a quality character with the best lines. Piers is my second fave especially for being Mrs Raven's plaything half the time! Totally love those two & i agree that Ardal O'Hanlon leaving lead to a big drop in the show's quality (what little it had)

Hi supergirlfootballer,

I am glad that you share my appreciation of Mrs Raven. It woud be cool if we could have her character maybe gain a seperate show on her own.

When all the original characters of "My hero" were there it was good.

Mrs Ravens replies to Doctor Crispin were similiar to another British comedey series. Blackadder for instance.

I loved seeing any protray of her on the screen when the show was running (Mrs Raven). She was a great character.

Thanks for replying - supergirlfootballer

Anyone else agrees with me? Or not.

Please leave your views here. We would love to hear them.

I agree with you all, she IS great, but what's better is the combination of Dr Crispin and Mrs Raven, but then that's what makes a FUNNY comedy; two characters with banter:

Basil & Manuel
Del Boy & Rodney
Blackadder & Baldrick
Tim & Gareth
Stweie & Brian
Ted & Dougal

All pure class :)

Sadly, the delicious breakout characters only end up getting upstaged by a new character.
* Sherman Helmsley appeared as the breakout character George Jefferson on "All in the Family." So he got his own series, "The Jeffersons."
* Marla Gibbs ruled over "The Jeffersons" when she played their maid and then she got her own series, "227." Jackee Harry took over that show as the breakout character.
* Jackee Harry got her own series but I think it expired before the fourth episode.

Forgive my American examples, but it was the first thing to come to mind.

Point being, let's just enjoy Mrs. Raven where she is. Although I am tickled whenever I get to see Geraldine McNulty (she played a similar character in "The Smoking Room" although she wasn't on the show terribly often).

This whole thing was a rotten pile of stinking Garbage!

Ms. Raven was amazing. Her sarcasm, negative attitude, her complete dislike and dismissal of customers/patients, and comments about her kids, great laughs.
