WHat the hell?

In the movie one of the rules was something like: "No weapons" yet a bunch of the guards had weapons............

"There's two types of people.......those with guns, and those who dig."

reply

LOL yeah! Like the senate guard..

reply

Yeah! Talk about poor movie making..... Maybe it's just because I watched the whole thing in one sitting but I thought it was horrible.

"There's two types of people.......those with guns, and those who dig."

reply

Well, I feel ignorant now, because I never even noticed...

There is one terrifying word in the world of nuclear physics: Oops.

reply

don't feel bad, I never noticed either...

reply

me either...

And they were using them when the pterasaurs attacked.

reply

your absolutely right.

but something else, they all have leather shoes on.

now in order for there to be leather, an animal has to be killed, unless they are hunting down the dead animals, which would mean they are either old or diseased, or they have stolen food from the carnivors.

all in all, I still liked the movie, mistakes and all.
I bought the book dinotopia for my son when he was 6, a year later, this came out so its a special movie for both of us, even if he won't admit it now.

reply

It's "you're" and "carnivores" and spot on about the leather, lol!

I also found it quite amazing how the two boys managed to swim through miles of endless deep dark ocean in a severe rain storm.

reply

The dumbest thing is that no one involved noticed that the real rules from the books (I'll either edit this post or reply if anyone asks about them) form an acrostic: SOW GOOD SEED.

In the mini-series it reads: OSW GOOD SEEF

reply

I think they noticed, I just don't think they cared. They had to bend and change so much from the books to make a far inferior, cliched script work. I really wish I was kidding, but if you watch and of the other miniseries that had been done by the same producers (Notably The Lost Empire), the y all seem to have an extremely similar structure (including a bizarre need to make things political). There are exceptions to the rule, but all in all, not so often that I can recall.
