Why is it rated 18? (UK)

Hi
I haven't seen Voodoo Academy but I was jst wondering why it's rated an 18 (R in U.S) Can anyone tell me? Thanks x

reply

it's rated 18 to minimise the amount of people that can watch it. small mercy.

no, i mean WHY - is it cos of sex, violence swearing e.t.c?

*~* True friends are like stars - sometimes you can't see them but they're allways there ! *~*

Its 18 for some language, which is pretty retarded, I know they probably say the F word a few times, but some PG-13 movies say the F word, damn IMDb censor....

The swearing helped get the rating. But it was mostly for the sexual content. I think anything that is sexual, that is vaguely gay automatically gets an 'R' rating. One guy writhing in extacy while another man rubs wine on his chest is somewhat homoerotic. Of course, one of them had to put on rubber gloves before he was willing to touch another guy, but the rubee was pretty into it. And then when they are having the erotic, voodoo induced dreams and start touching themselves in their underwear. If you listen to the commentary where the director says "He touched it" or "there, he touched it again" you can pretty much tell the actor's religeon. That's my guess. The grainyness is caused from them getting ahold of some old & remnant blank film. They only had 4 days to film this, so they didn't know how it would turn out, until after the filming was over. The clear parts were filmed in the studio instead of location. Romania, I think.
