USA DVD - is it presented correctly??

The cool opening sequence is in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen on the USA DVD from New Yorker Video. However, the rest of the film is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic and the picture is a tad soft compared to the sharpness of the opening credits. I'm wondering if this picture softness is due to the film being "zoomed-in"? The trailer is presented in 2.35:1 and there seems to be extra picture on the sides of the frame compared to the scenes in the actual feature presentation.
Is there a correct version on Spanish DVD? I'm wanting to seek it out since I love the film so much.

There is a Spanish DVD that is presented correctly 2.35:1 with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. The US release is croppped except for the opening and is only in 2.0 stereo. Also, the Spanish release has a rather long set of interviews with the cast members (in Spanish only, the movie itself has optional English subtitles). The disc was released by Manga Films (I believe) and can be found at Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Segunda-Piel-Second-REGION-Spain/dp/B000LABLQQ/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/002-5718513-4932823?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1173292310&sr=1-3
It is far superior to the US release if you have an all-region DVD player.
