The biggest flaw in the game

There is no item box. I think it is cool you have 2 characters, and finally you can drop items... but there is no frikin item box.

Despite that, you can only leave a certain amount of items in a room.

i like this games graphics and the story and everything... but without the item box it gets annoying

That's not a flaw. It was a deliberate attempt to make some changes in the gameplay that had become somewhat rigid after 5 games. It is actually convenient, you can ditch items that are not directly important temporarily, and replace them directly with key items, instead of having to go all the way back to an item box. If you're smart, leave your items in the most central place, for minimal backtracking.
Too bad they didn't change the inventory screen as well, it is still not very realistic that you can only hold 6 items. This means that your inventory is full with six keys, but also with 3 shotguns, which is a much bigger and heavier load. Good thing they changed that in RE4.

I am glad that they added the part where you can leave a item where ever you want. Have you ever played Chris' walkthrough on Remake? God it would have been a great thing to have. I like that feature because you can put the stuff that you don't necessary need at the moment together so that you can go back, grab the item and use it when you need to. The cool part is that the map even tells you where/what the item is.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

Nope, the biggest flaw in this game is the timing differences.

Although we are never really told when ALPHA TEAM went in to investigate, it is common thought that ALPHA followed BRAVO in as soon as they heard the chopper crash.

If this is the case, then the day that ZERO takes place during could never have happened. BRAVOs chopper crashes in the evening, then ZERO takes place...Rebecca goes into the mansion during the daylight hours...then a few hours later, in the darkness of night, ALPHA comes in to investigate.

So theres the continuity error: RE1 suggests that ALPHA TEAM follows BRAVO almost straight away, since why would they wait 24 hours before following them in after the distress call? However, ZERO shows that they actually spend a whole day and night with the whole James Marcus-scenario.

Nevertheless, ZERO is one of the BEST RE ever made! Cinematic, intense and dripping with RE traits that we all love (c'mon, Wesker and Birkin are in it!).

Shame about the 'Outbreak' games though...

I am sorry, but this is not a flaw either.

I have read serveral walkthroughs and chronologies which are based on evidence found in gameplay and files from the games. They point out that RE0 opens on the night of July the 23rd. The finale is at the dawning of July the 24th. REmake opens on the night of July 24th. So Alpha Team did indeed wait 24 hours before going in after Bravo Team, and Rebecca has indeed spent 24 hours in a horror scenario. Why is this? We can speculate that Albert Wesker has had something to do with it, since he is the executive officer of both teams. He could have stalled Alpha Team, deliberately, or perhaps because he had to make his way back to Raccoon City Police Department first. Or maybe there was no specific rule that Bravo Team has to call in every hour or so. It is of course tempting to think something has happened when your team hasn't checked in after three hours or so, but that can be due to broken communication equipment: you just can't sent in an extra team every time there is a couple of hours' radio silence (a call for help would be much more convincing). So probably half a day has past before you can justify forming another team, and it takes time to assemble it (because all team members are on vacation or about to get on the plane). So 24 hours is a bit sluggish, but not unthinkable.

the fact that everyone except the protaginist turns into a zombie when bitten is more of a flaw than an odd couple of hours here and there.

Yeah, because I found it really realistic carrying a TMP, a handgun, a big-ass shotgun, a sniper rifle and two scopes, ammo and a bunch of grenades all in your back pocket. Sure, it says "Attache Case", but where is it? When playing as Leon you can't see it.

I know it's kind of weird isn't it. But you can't complain because the in the old RE's you're capable of doing the same thing.

Yeah i agree with you Jared 45 the remake of 1 is good but chris can hold limited items and once you pick them up, you can't drop them until you find an item box.

There wasn't any one significantly guilty element that makes 0 suck, more the sum of its mediocre parts. Rebecca and Billy are terribly dull protagonists, the plot is wafer-thin and hokey even by RE (RE!) standards, the enemies showing that the designers had clearly run out of animals to mutate, and with the exception of the train, locations that were generic as hell. As much as I love every other core RE, I do not love 0.

You're lame then.. It happens only 24 hours before RE1. How many new environments did you expect? They are, after all, only a couple of miles from the Spencer estate. It was obviously gonna be similar to the mansion.

Not a flaw, it's a great upgrade.

Why would you need an itembox? You can finally drop items without discarding them compleatly, you leave them where you need them, if the room is full just go to the one next door :)
