Patou *spoiler*

Ok, maybe I missed it .. a few questions regarding the Patou character:

can someone tell me who this man represented in Mika.s life? and what was his role in the chocolate company?
he was a pleasant and honest man, tried to help her with the marketing, etc., but she took him for granted, even made a mean comment behind his back something like "this man is becoming annoying" .
Later we see Mika at an overlook some place with a view, she calls Patou on the phone and asks him to come see her.
She is truly a psychopath .. We never heard from this man again after that scene. I am assuming she killed him .. but I don't understand why he was never mentioned after that.

any ideas ?
