Would anybody sympathize with Mary Kay Letourneau if.....

SHE WASN'T SO CUTE? Let's think about it for a minute. Many have made the what if comparison with the male and female roles reversed, the male teacher sleeping with a 13 y/o female student, but I don't think we even have to go that far. Let's say Letourneau was a fat unattractive old skank, would anybody have sympathy for her or say people were uncompassionate towards this poor woman who was "obviously in love"? I somehow doubt it. But no, because she's a beautiful blonde with a sweet smile and batting blue eyes, she gets a pass for what any number of other people, male or female, in her exact same position would have been socially crucified for. It's pathetic how we as a society let ourselves be so blindsided by appearances and superficial things.

Yes, I agree it's not fair.

It's not fair that beautiful women get treated better than plain women.

I believe that a woman shouldn't get special treatment just because she's beautiful. She should be treated the same way as an average woman would. I know society doesn't agree with me- but that's my opinion.
