shareI have been wondering the same thing for years and the truth is, there's no point. this movie has no solid plot to speak of. they just needed a "touching" ending and they chose this pile of garbage for an ending. probably my least favorite comedy ever made.
shareI watched this for the first time in years yesterday and thats exactly what I thought. What was the point of killing Joe Guy in the first place if he was to become himself again?? Pointless!!
shareYeh it was crap. The whole point of the switch was because the angels made the mistake of taking his life about 40 years too early! They effectively killed him off at the end.
sharesaw this last night, i agree it seemed stupid at the end. what was the whole purpose of the film if he effectively died? Also i guess the other guy was meant to die, they didnt kill him for lance to take over his body.
the whole film seemed a bit off to me, it was funny (mostly) but.. it wasn't exactly a great ending.
