Are there any movies with the same story?

I was asking because the theme is so similar to an indian film released in 1986. The first part of the story is quite similar.....Is there any chance that it has been copied?

This is a remake of "Heaven Can Wait" (1978), which was a remake of "Here Comes Mr. Jordan" (1941).

... and all three of those movies were based on a play written by Harry Segall in 1938, also titled "Heaven Can Wait."

There is a very funny comedy with Lily Tomlin and Steve Martin with a similar idea: "All of Me".

In it the spirit of the recently departed Ms. Tomlin's character inhabits Mr. Martin's body. FUNNY!

Also the Title is copied, or actually blatantly taken from 1941 movie with the same title, though with a different story. It too is a funny movie, so I recommend it

No, the title was taken from a 1947 film which was a sequel (yes, as sequel!) to 'Here Comes Mr. Jordan' which starred Rita Hayworth. Edward Everett Horton returned as the messenger, James Gleason again plays Max Corkle and Mr. Jordan returned as well, but NOT played by Claude Rains this time out!

Jayakriss - there is an Indian movie called 'Jhuk Gaya Aasman' that was based on 'Here Comes Mr Jordan', but it was made in 1968. Is this possibly the move you saw?

Yea, Jhuk Gaya Aasman was a remake of Here comes mr jordan, and down to earth is also a remake of here comes mr jordan.
