Just a really bad ending

I first watched this movie because I was in school and we had to be in groups to do a project about things that affect teenagers and my group chose self-mutilation. We needed a movie and this was it. It was overly dramatic and had a really bad ending. Anyone agree?

I thought the ending could have been better. But then how else could they have ended it? I mean the whole thing where they decided to skip to about 5 months later to show how the main character is doing gets kind of old.But yes i wish the ending were a little bit better but it's TV Movie and i thought overall it was pretty good.

You thought it was overly dramatic,in what way do you mean? Do you just mean the performances or the way the characters were written or just the Self Injury aspect. If it was about the overly dramatic self Injury aspect,i disagree a lot of people act like that and are that sensitive.

I thought it was over-dramatic in general. But it wasn't the self injury aspect, it was the overall movie.

I thought the running away and sleeping with three guys at once was really over the top. I mean ... come on. She was really upset but, sheesh!!!

So they send Dawn right back to the same home where all the conflict began, and now she may even feel guilt over driving her mom away? That makes no sense. The schol or Perrella should ahve realized how basically unfeeling the mom was, and Perrella should have mandated separate therapy for the mom. Running away like she did never solves anything, and that weak dad shoukld have threatened divorce if that b---ch would not stay home and face her responsibilities. Or Dawn should have been placed in a therapeutic boarding school.

Yeah, I thought the ending basicly sucked. Her mom leaves and she's okay?! I mean, her mom was bad and she didn't handle the situation well at all, but it wasn't like she was the only reason to her daughter's cutting. If they really wanted it to send a message, they could have put a scene of her and her mom making up like with her brother. This movie has more unbelievable scenes already.

The ending kind of ruined it for me. Making progress with everyone but her mom? Not buying it.
