Live Action Version? Who should play old Bruce Wayne?

For a while, the net had a lot of talks about two Batman movies coming out Batman: Year One, a prequel on the origins of Batman. The second was Batman Beyond: The Live Action Movie, is this stil being made? If so, I would like to put my opinion on who should be the old Bruce Wayne. It's a cross between Adam West (1966 Batman) or maybe, but very unlikely Michael Keaton (1989 Batman).
Who do you think should be the old Bruce Wayne?

reply

I would pick Clint Eastwood. He has the look and I think he could it too bad this movie will never come out. It's been on hold for the longest time and the show is no longer popular. It looks like you'll never see this one come out.

Clint Eastwood is to much of a hardass to play bruce wayne, i dont think he could pull it off. i think they would need to use someone like Anthony Hopkins, or Ian McKellan, or Christopher Lee

reply

Too much of a hardass?? This is Batman, being a hardass is half the character. Clint Eastwood would have been perfect a few years ago, but now even he's too old. Anthony Hopkins and Ian Mckellan are great actors, and I'm sure they could do the part, but I don't think that they would be the best choices for the role. Christopher Lee I like a little better for it, but not as much as Eastwood.

Are we all forgetting the great Adam West?

reply

Yep, I think we are forgetting him on purpose though.

All kidding aside, he does deserve to have at least a cameo in something batman related. At least Batman Beyond let him have an episode. Unfortunately I don't think Adam West has the right charisma for a serious batman role.

reply

if its an older actor i'd go for Paul Newman.
or...if its a younger actor in 'old' make-up, Michael Keaton just to see how he'd play it.

Nope, if we cant have gandalf batman, hannibal batman or saruman dracula batman then we cant have cowboy batman. imagine seeing all the futuristic cars

bruce: terri, where are the horses? witchcraft is among us.

and you cant have a batman that loves to use guns as much as clint eastwood does. lets give it to mr west. the role is old bruce wayne, not old batman. remember 20 years after bruce retires from being batman. and for those that dont know, he has gotten alot better at acting in 40 years.

"and you cant have a batman that loves to use guns as much as clint eastwood does."

Actually, Clint Eastwood is a strong supporter of gun-control. He made UNFORGIVEN, which is a film that is very anti-violence and anti-gunplay.

Here's a couple of quotes from the not-so-tough 'Dirty Harry' star:

"I am concerned about violence in film. In '92, when I did Unforgiven, which is a film that [was] very anti-violence and anti-gun play, I remember that Gene Hackman was concerned about it, and we both discussed the issue of too much violence in films. It's escalated 90 times since Dirty Harry and those films were made."

"I've always supported a certain amount of gun control. I think it's very important that guns don't get in the wrong hands; It's very important to keep them out of the hands of felons or anyone who might be crazy with it."

... and that was the second time I got crabs.

or...play with this idea... KEVIN CONROY himself!
now that would be interesting!

reply

I got an idea, maybe not a good one. The person that should play old bruce wayne is that guy who plays joe on fmaily guy, you know puddy on Sienfield. But him in old make up

naw man, i think he could do a good serious job playing old bruce. hes got an awesome deep voice. plus, as you said, he even looks alot like older bruce.

if not old bruce, cus old make-up is kinda lame, i think he could definately play a seasoned bruce..like around 40 or 50 years old.

Big whoop, want to fight about it?!

I am glad it died. I am so sick of this "oh there has to be a LA version"! so I am going to say NO ONE! Leave it a Cartoon. After the very first Micheal Keaton Batman all of the batman movies have been lame. They should have left them as the Justice League Batman and left it at that.

reply

Yeah, Conroy would be a great choice!

Clint Eastwood is the only choice, especially now that Charlton Heston not acting anymore.

And while we are fantasy casting, who would you like for Terry? My choice would be Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

reply

Christopher Lambert

Well you can take out Heath. For some reason I could see Christopher Nolan being able to make this movie. But I doubt he ever will.

hahha. Yeah, in order to keep Nolan's timeframe that hes has set/is setting up, batman beyond live movie would be in like what, 30-40 years lol. kinda sad tho...... i think a batman beyond live movie would b tight!
