He is spending entirely too much time on the Gulf crisis-

I'm not saying this to be insensitive; I know what it means to people, but Brian Williams is, as of now, the only major news anchor who devotes nearly 3/4 of his anchor time talking about the crisis in the Gulf. Why?? There are other news stories as well, Mr. Williams, and both Diane Sawyer and Katie Couric are better at balancing out their newscasts with them than you are.

It's almost as if you were exploiting the oil crisis for its "sob story" potential. Here in our area, we are lucky because ABC World News Tonight comes on at 7 instead of opposite NBC News, so we are able to watch both if we want to. And so far, ABC has done a much, much better job in its nightly newscasts than you have, mainly because they gave other news stories their due worth during this crisis.

You are doing just as poor a job on the Gulf crisis now as you did a year ago when Michael Jackson died and you saturated us with stories about him. It's as if you thought Americans knew nothing about it. I know it seems that way on Jay Leno's "jaywalking" segments, but there are some of us who do pay attention, and we are frankly tired of this story. We sympathize deeply with those who are living through it, but you don't have to devote entire evening newscasts to it either.
