Lester Holt Should Be the #1 Anchor

Holt is not irritating like Williams, and has the gravitas to hold down the big job.

If NBC is the hope of mainstream liberalism in media, they should promote Holt, just to make a point.

In the process, they'd be getting the right guy for the job.

I cannot disagree with Holt at all. If they want someone to simply read the news, then Williams clearly does not have a good voice to do it in the first place. His voice is almost as annoying as that Bob's Burgers Bob character's voice. As I have pointed out before NBC has hundreds, if not thousands, of qualified "news readers" that could easily do better then Williams. There are probably more than a few camera operators or make up artist that could out do Williams at reading the news. NBC suffers from not having an anchor at all, unless Holt is filling in of course, but Holt is not getting any younger. They have a huge pool to choose from at MSNBC, but realistically, who wants to leave cable to do a measly half hour "news" broadcast?

Holt is still young by network news standards. He has not been at NBC News very long like Brian Williams and Matt Lauer. He holds audience interest because people respect him. I think he would be a great anchor. Lester Holt has all the tools, he can anchor, report and interview no problem. Holt can bring in demographics, he connects to a lot of people cause he is so respected and never puts his political agenda out there, these corporate looking white guy anchors are not cutting it anymore.
