Also when Collette is looking out the window she says "There's Georgiane's new Kaiser..." which is an anachronism. The last year the Kaiser car as produced in the US was 1955 and this murder took place in 1957 so there were no "New" Kaisers any more. Perhaps it was purchased used and still considered acquiring a "new car" as people often say.
The other thing I noticed was the kids he babysat called him by his first name. This likely did not happen in the 1950s as back then children were supposed to refer to and address their elders as "Mr." or "Mrs." etc. so they likely would've called him "Mr. Gein." Same goes for men addressing married women who they were not close friends with. He likely would've called Collette "Mrs. Marshall" in the 1950s.
