Kind of annoyed with folks who do Archie cartoons............. .

Every time they do one they seem to think that Jughead needs an annoying high-pitched nasal voice. I wish they would give him a different type of voice for once.

I don't know what gives them the impression that he sounds like that. Just because a teenage boy likes to sleep, eat, and watch TV all the time doesn't mean he has to sound like he just had the wind knocked out of him while holding his nose. It's pathetic.

reply

I think they do it because he has a long nose--still, I never imagined him with a nasally voice myself and it bugs the heck outta me that the only voice they give him is a nasally one, except for maybe in the Return To Riverdale flick, which is about as far-off character with most of the characters as can possibly get. I hated that Return To Riverdale flick for many reasons-one of them was not getting the characters right.

I mean Mr. Lodge an evil man?

Please.

And Jughead a whiny pathetic loser?

Sorry--but Juggie was always shown to be a confident character who could go toe to toe with almost anyone including Reggie.

That also struck me as strange. Everytime I'd read the Archie comics, or even just Jughead comics, I always pictured him having a lower lazy voice. Not an extreme, like a stoner would be like, but not very high pitched, like in his cartoon versions. In the cartoons, he kinda sounds like a little kid, or something.

Yeah, I always heard in my head more of a normal voice when I read the comics. Especially since Jug seems to always be the one of the group with the most common sense.

The voice from the old-school Archie Show from the 70s is like nails on a chalkboard.
