I loved this

I sorta wished this was based off real events because it's such a touching movie. Many felt it gave john too soft of an image but i think it made him seem more human. The way he wanted to be, human and not another God.

Precisely - while it is true that they did meet in 1976 to spend a day together, very few details of that day are publicly known. The filmmakers took artistic liberties, but certainly made sure they had the characterization and historical facts down pat. It made the movie even more believable.

Go take a step outside - see what’s shaking in the real world.

they met, but Paul was with Linda and John was with Yoko.

The trivia section neglects to mention that Paul and John met many other times when Linda was not hanging around. How about in '74, which May Pang has detailed in both of her books? Paul also came around to the Dakota several times and saw John when he was alone. It is also not completely certain that John and Paul's last meeting was in 1976. Paul has suggested (as did Linda), that there was a few additional meetings in 1977. Paul and John also spoke on the phone quite a number of times in 1979.

John himself stated in the 1980 Playboy Interview, that the evening he and Paul watched Saturday Night Live, when Lorne Micheals made his offer, was the last time he saw Paul. This was April 1976 just as stated in the movie. John said he asked Paul to call him first if he were to stop by again and that he was concerned that Paul may have taken it the wrong way. I do believe he also said he'd talked to Paul on the phone more recently but that evening was the last time he'd seen him.

Did not Paul McCartney visit John Lennon in NYC in the 70's? Offcourse he must have. This could be very real. Hopefully Lennon found som kind of peace with his past. Paul has.

"But as for me, I still remember how it was before, and I am holding back the Tears no more..."

Here Today, Paul McCartney.
