So this is the movie that ended Meg Ryan's marriage

Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe began a love affair on the set of this film. She was married to Dennis Quaid so it became a huge deal in the tabloids. They wouldn't do press for the film upon its release which upset David Morse and other actors who worked hard on this film. Meg was painted as an adulterous you-know-what and her career was never the same. In 2008 she tried to explain that Dennis Quaid had cheated on her throughout their marriage, but it was 8 years later and no one cared.

I was expecting to see some undeniable chemistry between Ryan and Crowe. Some fireworks that can't be denied. Instead, I found nothing. Nothing at all. This film was just plain boring except for the David Morse scenes. I gave it 4/10 and all 4 stars are for the supporting cast.

Sadly, the media, and the sheep who follow them cared more about Meg and Russell than the actual film, which is a shame. Really good film but unfortunately most people care more about tabloid bull *beep* than enjoying a film. My advice (which will never be heeded) is to stop caring about the intimate lives of celebrities and try not being sheep and maybe living you're own lives. Again, this will never happen.

Are you retarded? so people should care more about a fictional drama movie, as opposed to real life drama?

Meg's career and it's decline had nothing to do with Crowe or the end of her marriage to Quaid. It has everything to do with ageism against actresses in Hollywood, and the decline of Ryan's cute and youthful looks.

Really, who takes any of these Hollywood marriages seriously? Only a rare few seem like legitimate love matches. The rest are career alliances and publicity stunts.

Mr. Quaid had a history of drub abuse...I think Meg just wanted out..

Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid both acknowledge the marriage was well and truly over before the Russell Crowe affair. The Crowe affair just made them realise it would be better for them to part company.

Crowe received alot backlash for the affiar, being accused of being a marriage wrecker when it wasn't really the realty.

Ryan wanted Crowe to spend more time in America with her, instead of Crowe heading back to Australia. Crowe declined this request, so she broke up with him.

Maybe there weren't incredible fireworks between them but at least there was more of a sense of intimacy between them than all the shouting between Morse and Ryan.
