Yeah I'm watching this right now and in the scenes between her and Meg Ryan, I keep thinking to myself, "Could they possibly have found two less appealing female leads?" Cutesy Meg Ryan is completely out of her depth here, and meanwhile Pamela Reed is the exact opposite--grating and masculine.

I didn't like her performance either. It was as if she was trying to take over and she was very rude to everyone.

Shes a good actress just not in this film.

She is supposed to be grating and unbearable though, Meg Ryan's character basically says so. And she pulls off apt hysterical moments well, such as when there is the showdown in the home with the first negotiator. Something would've been missing if we would've just had quiet Meg Ryan crying and sulking and saying nothing really loudly emotional the entire movie. I thought reed actually did a fine job, but I agree that she eventually wears on your nerves. That is why she was sent home eventually, for the
viewers sake
